Halloween Spooktacular: Week One

Photobucket

I was able to sneak away this weekend for a super-quick trip to North Carolina to visit my BFF and finally meet her three-year-old twins.  It was a wonderful, albeit way too short, trip.  Since I was gone this weekend and unable to snap photos of our Halloween decor I'm showcasing some of my favorite ideas from around the web.

Of course, I’m hoping you’ll provide some weekly inspiration as well.  Link up your autumn or Halloween themed posts-- they can be anything from a seasonal recipe to a pumpkin picking adventure to your autumn decorations.  It would be great if you could link back to this post as well so that others could join in on the fun.  Bonus points if you include the Spooktacular button.  Don't have a Halloween post yet?  We'll be cranking out the Spooktacular fun every Monday through Halloween, so join us then!

Psssttt... there's a giveaway at the end of this post for everyone-- whether you link a post or not-- so don't miss it!

I tend to go for more simple and modern Halloween decor, and here are a few of my favorites:

Nevermore Wreath from Katydid and Kid

Candy Corn Bunting from Tatertots and Jello

Spooky Kitchen Decor at Madigan Made

Eek Pumpkins at Organize and Decorate Everything

Repurposed Shades at Life in Rehab

Fall Embroidered Pillows at Dream Home

You could pay $19 for these Pottery Barn pumpkin lanterns, OR find orange ones online or at the Dollar Store and make them yourself either with black paper cutouts or simply drawing on them with black marker.   I vote for the latter, but you know me-- I'm crazy like that!

I could spend all day knocking off Pottery Barn things... here, take a frame from a thrift shop or dollar store, remove the back, and use a paint pen to decorate the glass.  Black cats, pumpkins, witch sillhouettes-- the only limit is your imagination!

Crayon sets from Blake's Crayons.  How great are these?  They'd be fun favors for a Halloween party, no cavities included.

Now, go ahead and link up your ideas!  I'll feature a few of them in next week's Spooktacular post.  Did you like those crayons from Blake's Crayons?  If you comment below you'll be entered to win a set of your very own.  Want an extra entry?  Visit Blake's Crayons and let me know which set you'd choose if you won!

This post contains an "inlinkz" button, not visible on your reader.  Please stop over and link up!  Here's how:

To enter your link, click "Add Your Link."  Then, simply add the url of your post (not just your blog, but the actual post), a name for it (your blog name, or the title of your project), and your email-- which will not be visible.  Happy Linking!
