The "BEFORE":
Noodle was enthralled as well...
... with her reflection.
Before I show you the project, I have to warn you: taking photos of mirrored frames in a sunlit room was TOUGH. Taking photos of mirrored frames in my dark, awful living room was even more difficult. {Do not get me started on my dark, awful living room. It deserves it's own post}. Here's a sneak peek at the project, with a side note that it looks MUCH cuter in person.
The "AFTER":
Yes, that spells LOVE (with a heart in the middle). But of course you can't see that with my mediocre photography skills.
Obviously, it's not hard to figure out how to make these letters but I wrote up a quick tutorial anyhow.
First, I used the paper inside the frames as a template to cut out shapes. I used these shapes for background paper and letters.
Next, I freehanded the letters. It might have looked better with typed letters printed on the scrapbook paper, but what can I say: I was lazy.
I glued the letters onto the backgrounds, stuck them in the frames, and *poof*: LOVE!
These little frames bring so much light to my dark, awful fireplace mantel which is hard to capture in a photo. But I'll try.
I plan on using these letters as part of our Valentine's Day tablescape, as well as on a bookcase in Noodle's room once the holiday is over. I'm sure you'll see these frames used for other holidays as well... so many ideas, so little time. :-)
I'd love to check out your Valentine's Day crafts and ideas, so if you have any, please link them up below!

ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog...I linked up my post here (please excuse the first link--it was the wrong one, but I'm having trouble deleting it).
ReplyDeleteI love those frames, and what a bargain! The LOVE letters look cute in them.
If it helps, our living room is also depressingly dark, with a North eastern exposure. I dream of sunlight-filled rooms...
I LOVE them! Super cute! Thanks for sharing!
